The Faculty of Architecture is not on the main campus of Wroclaw University of Science and Technology and is located at 53/55 Boleslawa Prusa Street, an area with several hist
oric buildings housing classrooms, library, administration offices and laboratories.
The campus of the Faculty of Architecture of Wroclaw University of Science and Technology covers an area of 1.10 ha.
The faculty is located in a historic buil
ding, sharing it with the University metrology labs. The usable floor area of the faculty is 5,000 sq m, 2000 sq m of which are the teaching rooms. Different amenities are available: cafeteria, photocopying center, artists’ stationery shop. There are two smaller listed buildings within the campus: a villa built in 1903, now housing offices, labs and teaching rooms, and former technical building of 1905, used as a library.
The Faculty library migrated in 2016
to an refurbished and extended historic building. The library consists of two parts: the contemporary and historic books and graphic materials. The so-called history library cherishes special collections of photographic negatives and architectural records related to the history of architecture, art, cartography, and technology, with special focus on the historical sites of Lower Silesia. The archives house a collection of research reports on different architectural and technological sites of Silesia carried out by the Faculty’s academics. Due to their age and rarity, part of the book collection is enlisted in the National Heritage Library.
Teaching is supported by the faculty computer laboratory. The laboratory is used in learning of architectural design with the application of various architectural CAD programs, and peripherals, computer visualization software, web design, graphics, etc. Students may use all the equipment, including A0 plotters and a 3D plotter without restraints.
The faculty photographic laboratory aids teaching by digitizing archival materials and by preparing photographic documentation and graphics.
