The laboratory focuses on the implementation of various contemporary technologies in the field of conservation of historic buildings and research of historic materials used in art and architecture.
These include technological examination of building materials (brick, stone, wood), conservation materials (pigments, canvas, primers, gilding, silver coating) and technological testing (stratigraphy, salinity, moistness, microbiology).
The equipment in the laboratory includes a derivatograph, electrone microscope, atomic absorption spectrograph, INSTRON 9250 HV Impact Test System and a xenotest chamber, 3D scanner, electrophoresis device, resistograph, noninvasive moisture meters for walls and interiors The laboratory has been created to develop new methods and research programs which combine the standardized and non-standardized research methods and models.
The laboratory is equipped with state-of-the-art monitoring and testing equipment, which guarantees reliable results and highly effective research quality system.
